Full Description

The ES-335 Traditional

The ES-335 has become a staple guitar in the Gibson range of instruments, and has been used by countless musicians over many decades. The 2018 Traditional model features vintage-inspired MHS (Memphis Historic Spec) humbuckers and the MTC (Memphis Tone Circuit) to deliver period-correct tones. Gibson blends this historic tone with modern technology, such as titanium saddles for increased clarity. This guitar features subtle improvements over its predecessors to deliver accurate vintage tones that are improved with modern technology; it is the perfect blend of old and new.

Vintage MHS Humbucking Pickups

Loaded with two hand-wired MHS humbucking pickups, the Gibson ES-335 delivers a vintage style tone with an airy and biting response. The pickups are crafted with the ''Memphis Historic Spec'' and designed to be a close match to the original ''Patent Applied For'' pickups that were used on early Gibson guitars. The ES-335 features an MTC (''Memphis Tone Circuit'') with high quality CTS pots and Orange Drop capacitors. This circuit provides a close match to the highly regarded tonality of vintage guitars. Featuring unbalanced coils and Alnico II magnets with under-wound design, the MHS pickups are perfect for a variety of styles and offer a detailed and articulate response.

Classic Tonewoods

The 2018 ES-335 features a 3-ply hollow body, constructed from maple and poplar. It creates a resonant acoustic tone with great clarity. A maple center block and spruce binding add to the guitar's bright tonality, while the mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard help to increase sustain and low-end articulation.

Comfortable Neck & Fingerboard

A C-shaped neck profile sits comfortably in the left hand and the double cutaway body allows easy access to the high frets. For added comfort, the neck's binding is smoothly rounded, delivering a comfortable feel for the left hand fingers. The 24.75'' string length is ideal for easy string bends and vibrato.

Quality Hardware With Bone & Titanium

The Gibson ES-335 features a bone nut which offers an enhanced tone and sustain when compared to traditional plastic and tusq nuts. The ES-335 also features an ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles; these modern saddles provide excellent clarity, definition and sustain. Grover tuners are included to give excellent tuning stability.

Classic Gibson Styling

The Gibson ES-335 Traditional is decorated with a full host of classic appointments. These include black top hat control knobs with silver inserts, Grover 'milk bottle' Rotomatic tuners and a 5-ply black pickguard. This is a guitar that blends a classic vintage aesthetic with modern materials and construction methods.

Gibson Memphis Series

Every Gibson Memphis guitar receives an ultra-precise Plek Pro setup, which optimises the fingerboard and nut for perfect action and intonation. Gibson's world-class luthiers take painstaking care with every detail of the ES-335, such as the inclusion of orange drop capacitors, nickel hardware and a stunning nitrocellulose lacquer finish. These finishing touches add to the amazing tone and vibe of this incredible guitar, living up to the legacy of the ES Series.
